It’s a cliche to say that teaching is among the noblest of professions, but it’s also true. A few years ago, a Virginia school district reported to the legislature in its state that candidates entering teacher preparation programs declined by 45%. When I was teaching, I heard students and parents say many times that they wanted to go for a profession where they “can make a good living.’ Translation: money and lifestyle.

Not everyone cares as much about money. Some are motivated by values. Some have spouses that make the money freeing them up to follow their inner voice calling to them to help others. Regardless of your position, if you decide to take up teaching, either as a young teacher fresh out of college, or a career switcher who wants to make a difference in a second career, you may need guidance. The better school districts appoint competent mentors that can do a good job guiding you. We at 3Amgios can give you an outside perspective, advise and consent from a neutral corner, and answer questions you maybe do not want to ask someone who is obligated to your employer. Whether it be work-life balance questions, classroom management, or dealing with parent communications, we can help with practical, time-tested, and successful tactics and practices in order to bring you peace of mind when times are most stressful.
